Audubon Metals is located in Henderson, KY and Corsicana, TX. We are owned by Koch Enterprises Inc., a local and diversified group of companies with over 150 years of industrial experience.
Our story started in 1996 as a single furnace operation and has since grown to a multi-site, seven furnace operation which processes and recycles over a half billion pounds of non-ferrous recyclable metals per year. In July 2021, we initiated operations at our second production site located in Corsicana, Texas, where we mirrored our same efficient philosophy, processes, and culture.
In our system, automobile shredder residue (Zorba) is processed, dried, melted, alloyed to customer specification, and delivered to diecasters within the domestic and international markets. With the contributions of our raw material, our end-use market partners and an efficient internal operational process, Audubon Metals has accelerated the recycling process of automobile shredder residue into new secondary aluminum alloy castings. In our estimation, it takes an average of 42 days from the time that an automobile is first shredded, to the time a new aluminum casting is shipped.
