During the monthly meeting of the Economic Development Partnership group, Brian Hawkes, President and CEO of Audubon Metals, presented updates on the company’s expansion plans. Audubon Metals is extending its operations from Henderson County, Kentucky, to Corsicana, Texas, with a new 150,000 sq. ft. facility. Audubon specializes in recycling metals for reuse in manufacturing, using a unique process that transforms automotive shredder residue into secondary aluminum alloys for die castings, in compliance with environmental regulations.
The Corsicana location, strategically chosen for its logistical advantages, is set to become operational with 80 employees in the middle of the year, potentially growing to 200 employees by 2024. This expansion reflects positive economic activity in Corsicana, as also indicated by housing market trends, with a strong sellers’ market and increased housing prices. Furthermore, commercial construction is on the rise, and new members are joining the Corsicana and Navarro County Chamber of Commerce.
